Rays 11, Red Sox 0… at Fenway?!?!

Yep, and here are some of the highlights:6w5hbotd_1

Tim Corcoran – Tim finally got some runs behind him, and made the most of it, pitching 6 2/3 excellent shutout innings, getting his first win since the all-star break.  He looks a pretty decent pitcher, and if he can find some consistancy, could challenge to make the rotation again next season.

Rocco – What more can I say about Rocco?  He belted a three-run homer, his 15th of the season, moving his RBI total to 56.  A full season next year?  Watch out American Legue.

CC – Carl beat out an infield single to start the Rays’ 9-run 7th.  He belted an RBI-triple (his 16th) to put the icing on it.  Carl Crawford rules.

Greg Norton – The biggest, most pleasant surprise of the whole season has been Greg Norton.  He went 2-3 last night with a homer (his 15th) and 3 RBI (for 41).  He’s hitting .293, and for a guy who was a non-roster invitee to spring training, has done enough surely to make the team again next season.

Ty Wigginton – 2 more hits, 3 more RBIs.  Ty’s at a career high 77 now.  And he was slated to be the Rays utility guy.  Well, he has played just about everywhere, but as a starter, not a platoon guy.  Ty has been amazing.

BJ Upton – This kid is so good, he can draw a walk on a 2-2 count.  Seriously.  And, when the umpire decides that thats not really within the rules, he can step back in the box, laughing, and slap the next pitch into left for a single.  Cool as you like.
